The Club was fortunate to welcome to Monaco an Estonian couple, Sirje and Andrus, who danced with us for a while before deciding to move back to Estonia.  Thanks to their encouragement, 15 members and friends were able to make this trip which was arranged by Estravel in Tallinn.  In the short time available we saw a major part of this interesting country which only regained its independance in 1991, and we also had the chance to perform at several venues.

After a hectic air trip from Nice via Amsterdam and Helsinki, followed by a JetFoil sea-trip to Tallinn, we were glad to relax a little, sample the local cafés, come to terms with EEKs (the local currency) and chase bargains in local knitwear and linen.

Having left heat-wave conditions on the Côte d'Azur, we were looking forward to a cooler time.  However, we found that we had brought the good weather with us and Estonia was basking in its hottest summer for years!  In brilliant sunshine, we had a walking tour of the medieval city and finished by dancing in the evening at the Scottish Club.
